BestCities Global Alliance is making its final call to all senior international association executives interested in enhancing their personal expertise and maximising positive impact of their events, by applying for one of the remaining places at the annual BestCities Global Forum, to be held in Copenhagen this December.
The Alliance is offering to host delegates on a trip to the culture rich city of Copenhagen – one of the BestCities partners – to join a wide range of prestigious global associations in a landmark programme centred on the theme of Exploring the Congress of the Future – Fortifying Impact running from the 8-11 December.
Set to explore the future of the business tourism industry, attendees will discover innovative case studies, hear from inspiring speakers and grow relationships with like-minded peers from around the world. Organisations already confirmed for the Global Forum include the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, the Young Presidents’ Organization, and many more.
There will be an Impact Workshop with industrial ph.D Thomas Trøst, and CEO of the European Society of Radiation Oncology, Alessandro Cortese, on how to involve key stakeholders in impact activities, and evaluating global best practices on impact activities. They will also unveil clear and applicable terminology on the key concepts, including outreach, legacy and impact – introducing a dialogue on measurement for the first time. The carefully curated programme will give delegates the opportunity to develop meaningful, practical skills they can apply to their day to day work back home and at future events.
Copenhagen Convention Bureau (CCB) and BestCities will also launch an ambitious initiative to explore the future of congresses, in partnership with the Danish Design Centre and futurists from Public Futures. Delegates will be asked to take part in the building of these scenarios for associations for the future.
The Forum will also give delegates the opportunity to delve into the workings of an international destination alliance and discover the ways in which this can benefit their planning and events. From gaining access to a global network and the transparent knowledge sharing between partner cities helps associations to create bigger, better and more impactful meetings.
The fourth BestCities Global Forum builds on the delegate success ratings from Tokyo 2017 and Bogotá 2018. Delegates will take advantage of this year’s host destination as they experience Copenhagen as a local. Various social and cultural activities have been incorporated into the programme to give attendees the opportunity to explore Copenhagen’s unique and intriguing heritage, such as city walking tours giving delegates ‘A Bite of Denmark’ and visit CopenHill; an urban mountain where you can ski on the top of a waste-to-energy plant.
The diverse range of speakers at the Copenhagen Global Forum include forum facilitator, David Meade, Co-Founder of Noma, Claus Meyer, and President of the Rapid Results Institute (RRI), Nadim Matta. Meyer will be addressing the importance of unconventional thinking and how to create cultural movements, sharing insights from his gastronomic business and philanthropic journey. Matta will be speaking about how community stakeholders should work towards higher levels of collaboration, innovation and execution in relation to RRI’s 100-day challenge initiative.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to further establish relationships with peers and grow global networks at the annual Ambassador Dinner, which will see influential local ambassadors and key contacts in attendance.
