Samoa’s number one luxury resort, Sinalei Reef Resort & Spa, has upped its dining offering with the unveiling of its new beachfront bar – Tuna’s Landing.

Situated on the sandy shoreline of Sinalei’s palm-lined beach, Tuna’s Landing channels Samoa’s idyllic, slow-paced lifestyle.

Sinalei Marketing and Business Development Manager, Nelson Annandale, said it’s the perfect spot for a light afternoon bite after a day at the beach or a morning coffee while soaking up the views.

“Tuna’s Landing has been decked out with comfort and relaxation in mind,” he explained. “It features three hammocks, two chair hammocks, eight all-weather beanbags, and a shaded deck.”

The bar borrows its name from an ancient Samoan Warrior, Tuna, who is the ancestor of Samoan Paramount Royalty, ‘Malietoa – the last king of Samoa’.

“Tuna and his brother Fata were believed to have been solely responsible for ending the Tongan reign on Samoan land and henceforth marking the end of a 200-year rule and the beginning of a new era in Samoan history. It links to the myths and legends surrounding the resort’s Ava I Toga Restaurant and ‘Vai O Le Maile Spring – Head of the Tonga Warrior Spring’,” he explained.

The menu includes smoothies, soft drink, coffee, beer and wine, as well as snacks such as crisps, a cake of the day, wraps and sandwiches. Complementing the resort’s tropical, sun-drenched location, it also boasts an assortment of ice cream flavours and toppings.

Tuna’s Landing is a welcome addition to the resort’s existing refined yet relaxed culinary offering, which includes in-room dining; private destination picnics; Uncle Harry’s bar; Ava I Toga restaurant; and traditional Samoan restaurant, Laumoso’oi.
