An escape to the Western Australia’s magnificent Kimberley is set to become an even easier option as El Questro has announced a sweep of earlybird specials for the 2020 season timed to align with new direct flights between Melbourne and Kununurra, ‘The Kimberley Express’ launching in May next year

At El Questro’s luxury Homestead guests can stay four nights and save 25 per cent on the 2020 special (or stay four nights and pay for just three) and enjoy included gourmet meals each day, a selection of premium alcoholic and all non-alcoholic beverages and daily-restocked minibar.

An itinerary of experiences of the Kimberley is also part of the deal at Homestead, from a Chamberlain River cruise and exclusive access to the Zebedee Thermal Springs to guided walks of El Questro Gorge. On sale from now until April 1, rates on the 2020 special start at $1567* per room per night, based on a four-night minimum stay between April 1 and October 17, 2020.

At El Questro’s Emma Gorge and Station properties, guests can stay three nights and pay for only two on the 2020 deal. Rates at Emma Gorge start at $234* per room per night based on a three-night minimum stay between May 1 and September 25, 2020, while rates at The Station start at $264* per room per night in a Gardenview or Riverview Room, based on a minimum three night stay between April 1 and September 17, 2020.

Meanwhile, Virgin Australia’s new Melbourne-Kununurra direct flights will be operated by Alliance Airlines and are especially beneficial for Melburnians and travellers from the eastern states looking for a quick Kimberley getaway. Dubbed the ‘Kimberley Express’, services will begin for the 2020 season on Friday May 15, continuing through the peak Kimberley season until the end of August.

Bookable via Virgin consumer channels, the new flight route has a time of less than five hours one-way, and will operate three times a week. Economy tickets are priced from $399* one-way and business class tickets are priced from $1499* one-way.

El Questro Manager Lori Litwack said the new direct flights between Melbourne and Kununurra made a Kimberley adventure much more accessible.

“Virgin’s new direct flights to Kununurra offer terrific savings in both time and fares for travellers from Melbourne and Sydney or Brisbane, so the time to take that long-weekend – or mid-week – getaway to the Kimberley has come in 2020,” Ms Litwack said.

Resting at the heart of the Kimberley’s spectacular 700,000-acre wilderness, El Questro offers a range of accommodation options for every traveller from glamping and hotel-style facilities to the rarefied surroundings of an intimate luxury lodge. Opportunities for adventure abound, with guided walks, fishing and helicopter tours all on offer for exploring the gorges, rivers and ranges of Western’s Australia’s most thrilling inland destination.
