As autumn takes hold in the northern hemisphere, Memphis has announced a series of festivals across October and November. Designed to get travellers and locals alike out in the fresh air, the below top three festivals offer something for every kind of traveller.

RiverArtsFest, October 26 and 27

Celebrating artistic diversity and local musicians, RiverArtsFest provides a platform for over 180 artists from across the United States to share their latest original works with the public. The longest-running fine arts festival in the region, this creative extravaganza features live street performances, an invitational art show, two mouthwatering food courts and the interactive kids’ Hands On Art project.

Ultimate Falls Festival, October 25 to 27

Returning for its 3rd consecutive year, the Ultimate Fall Festival boasts three daytime parties, a masquerade ball and a skating party. This lively festival allows visitors to explore the iconic locations and experiences that only Memphis can offer, including the famous Beale Street and a river cruise down the Mississippi River.

Indie Memphis Film Festival, October 30 to November 4

In its 22nd year, the Indie Memphis Film Festival will transform the city into a film lovers’ haven between. Listed in MovieMaker magazine’s Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in 2019, the Indie Memphis Film Festival aims to offer attendees a variety of creative and educational experiences around town. The festival also features the Black Creators Forum that aims to reduce the barrier of entry for black artists looking to work in the film industry, presenting the opportunity to attend workshops and listen to industry greats over two days.

No matter what you’re into, from live music performances in theatres to Midtown block parties, there is no shortage of spectacles to get visitors out exploring all that Memphis has to offer, even as the temperature drops.
