This week’s announcement that TravelEdge is being acquired by Helloworld has resulted in TravelManagers’ Barry Mayo being appointed as interim chairman, stepping into the role vacated by Grant Wilson whose company is exiting from CT Partners as a result of its sale.

CT Partners is an alliance of 21 of the largest independent corporate travel management firms and premium leisure agencies in Australia, who between them account for 1.1 million travellers each year, with a combined annual total transaction volume (TTV) of AU$1.5 billion.

It’s business as usual with CT Partners’ members due to assemble with key supplier partners in Bangkok in October for their annual three-day business meeting, Mayo says one of the main items of the agenda will be the appointment of a new board member.

“Grant has been CT Partners’ chairman since 2007 and we thank him for his commitment and contribution to the role” notes CT Partners’ General Manager, Ian Edwards. “Moving forward we are very fortunate to have appointed someone who knows the industry inside-out and has been involved with CT Partners from the very beginning as interim replacement chairman.

“This ensures that for the transition period, from now until the new board membership is confirmed in Bangkok, we continue our targeted strategy to gain new members which meet our growth criteria.”

According to Edwards, the annual meeting in Bangkok also serves as an opportunity to celebrate shared achievements and map out next steps.

“Our members, who retain 100 percent ownership of CT Partners, will continue to distribute preferred product from their key supplier partners and benefit from the total pass-through of all supplier incentives,” he explains. “CT Partners is in very strong shape and looking forward to securing new members who share our values, meet our growth criteria and contribute to our strategic direction.”

CT Partners is the largest and most influential independent travel buying network in Australia with a presence in all States and Territories. Established in early 2004, CT Partners comprises 21 of Australia’s largest independent corporate travel management firms and premium leisure agencies, with a combined turnover in excess of $1.5 billion and growing. Its size and positioning in the Australian travel sector, along with its unique model, offering members full financial transparency and full pass through of supplier incentives, means that clients benefit from access to the most competitive air, hotel, car rental technology and insurance rates available.

CT Partners is 100% owned by full members and, uniquely in the industry, is committed to complete financial transparency – supplier payments are passed back in full to member agencies.
