Australian Asia tour specialists Wendy Wu Tours has today announced the appointment of Troy Ackerman as General Manager of its Australian office.
Based in Sydney, Ackerman will lead the award-winning company, now entering its 25th year of operation. Moving back to Australia from New Zealand, Ackerman joins the Wendy Wu Tours team with over 22 years of experience in the industry, most recently as General Manager of Globus family of brands where he first joined the company in Sydney as National Sales Manager, before transferring to New Zealand to lead the company’s New Zealand business in 2014.
Ackerman brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the General Manager role having cut his teeth in the industry at STA Travel before moving into roles with Contiki Tours, Flight Centre and Globus family of brands.
Speaking on his appointment, Ackerman says “I am absolutely rapt to be joining the team at Wendy Wu Tours, and returning to the Australian industry. I have spent my career passionately representing iconic industry brands, and I’m really looking forward to doing the same at Wendy Wu Tours.
“Speaking with Wendy extensively over the interview process, I know we have a dedicated, high performing team in Australia and I’m confident that together, we can take the business even further forward, along with our valued retail partners.”
Ackerman will commence his role as General Manager of Wendy Wu Tours Australia on 1 October, reporting directly into Founder Wendy Wu who is based in the UK.
