Acclaimed speakeasy bar #FindTheLockerRoom launches a new cocktail menu, Vol. 3. Started in 2017, #FindTheLockerRoom stayed true to its concept of serving up “Past-Present-Future” drinks. Designed to bring its guests through the journey of each classic, from a rich history to the endless possibilities it has brought and could bring.
Conceptualised by the bar team behind #FindTheLockerRoom and its dream team founders – Colin Chia (Nutmeg & Clove, Singapore), Hidetsugu Ueno (Bar High Five, Tokyo), Nick Wu (Bar Mood, Taipei), Ronnaporn “Neung” Kanivichaporn (Backstage Cocktail Bar, Bangkok) & Chennarong “Janz” Bhumichitr (Backstage Cocktail Bar, Bangkok).
Presenting six new sets of three “Past-Present-Future” cocktails, each set paying homage to various liqueur and classics, namely Million Dollar Cocktail for Gin, El Presidente for Rum, Hunter for Bourbon Whiskey, Margarita for Tequila, Blood & Sand for Scottish Whisky, and Brandy Alexander for Cognac.
Origins of the “Past” Hunter are highly unknown, its popularity came about by the recommendation of our Co-Founder, Hidetsugu Ueno. This Bourbon Whiskey-based classic cocktail gives off a silky yet malty flavour with an understated fruity and spicy after-taste. The twist of its “Present” – Lady Hunter, is a refreshing version of its predecessor. With earl grey tea syrup, sweet vermouth, Chinese wine vinegar reduction and lemon juice, it balances out the strong flavour of malt in the original, leaving hints of wood and spice in one’s palette. The last of the series “Future” X Hunter (right), rounds up the sweet and bitter cocktail with clarified milk punch.
The Tequila series features the classic Margarita. Its “Present” Margherita Or Margarita? enhances the savoury flavour of the “Past” with the acidity from tomato and orange, paired with the nuttiness of Parmesan cheese. Bringing it to the “Future”, Ooh La La hits home with fresh jalapeño followed by its sweetness and citrusy crisp finish.
In addition, #FindTheLockerRoom brings back two sets of the crowd favourites from its very first menu. Bloody Mary set which consists of its classic, The Harakiri (Present) and Bloodless Maria (Future), and Dark & Stormy (Past) set, which consists of Green Day in Bangkok (Present) and Dark Days (Future). This allows new visitors an opportunity to taste the drinks from the pioneer #FindTheLockerRoom’s menu and gives appreciation to its regulars for their constant support.
Launch of The Botanist Bar
In collaboration with The Botanist Islay Dry Gin, #FindTheLockerRoom’s first-floor space is converted into The Botanist Bar. The Botanist Gin is a combination of nine classic gin botanicals sourced from around the world, and a further 22 local botanicals foraged on the Islay island, then distilled in a low-pressure pot-still. The process takes around three times longer than the traditional production process. The result is a floral nose with a distinct sweet juniper hit and a zesty yet gentle spice on the palette.
Bringing justice to the foragers who search across the hills, bogs, and shores of Islay to create this beautiful complex floral gin, #FindTheLockerRoom created four cocktails using The Botanist and named them close to its roots, namely Fruit, Leaf, Root and Wood. Each cocktail emphasis on the various flavours of the botanicals in The Botanist, either the sweetness of the guava, the various spices of wood, or the grassy aroma of the leaves. Appointment of Group Beverage Director – Rojanat Chareonsri “Ping” #FindTheLockerRoom is delighted to announce the appointment of new Group Beverage Director – Rojanat Chareonsri “Ping”. Having more than a decade of experience from Washington D.C. to Bangkok, Ping has a wealth of knowledge on the classics and contemporary cocktails.
After serving as the Head Bartender at NoPa Kitchen + Bar in Washington, D.C., Ping returned to Bangkok to set up his own venture, Fillets, and subsequently head the bar programme at ABar, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park. He is currently the Thailand Brand Ambassador of the Macallan brand. Known for a knack in flavours pairing, Ping is a valuable addition to the #FindTheLockerRoom and #FindThePhotoBooth.
