The highly anticipated Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel has announced the appointment of award-winning Fabrizio Facchini as the Executive Chef of the hotel’s upcoming restaurant, Cotto, soon to be one of Chelsea’s hottest dining destinations. Opening Fall 2019, the restaurant will serve a unique twist on authentic Italian cuisine, perfectly situated in Chelsea’s enchanting Flower District. Facchini will oversee the menu creation and vision of Cotto, while using the best of local and imported ingredients. In addition to the restaurant, Facchini will spearhead all food and beverage operations at the Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel, including catering for private events in the Cardinal Ballroom and the two-story rooftop lounge, Somewhere Nowhere.

Most recently, Facchini served as the Executive Chef at Memoria in New York and Taverna Novo in Saratoga Springs, NY. Prior to bringing his Italian expertise to the United States, he was the chef and owner of Antico Borgo, the former boutique hotel and restaurant in Arcevia, Italy. He is currently the president of Slow Food Chefs’ Alliance USA, brand ambassador for Urbani Truffles and Pastificio G. di Martino, and board member of the Association of Italian Chefs New York. Amongst many other accolades, Facchini has been recognized in the Michelin Italy Guide and was honored by the Italian American Chamber in New York for his authentic cuisine.

“Chef Facchini brings indisputable talent and passion, which will set a distinguishable tone for this restaurant,” said General Manager Chris Rynkar of Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel. “We are pleased to have a chef of his caliber lead the culinary team for this highly anticipated property.”

Cotto will be an unexpectedly calm escape in the heart of New York’s concrete jungle, where guests can unwind and enjoy the airy, indoor and outdoor seating with a trellis-covered courtyard composed of red brick flooring, water fountains and eclectic garden furnishings.

Chef Facchini’s specialties will include modern takes on traditional Italian dishes, such as burrata al tartufo served with freshly shaved summer truffles and paccheri al pistacchio di Bronte served with a creamy saffron sauce and pistachio pesto. In addition to an extensive list of wine and spirits offerings, Facchini has developed an innovative mixology experience, incorporating a selection of spirits, fruit, and herb-infused ice cubes into the restaurant’s cocktail programming. Facchini will also host exclusive events and dinners at the restaurant throughout the year, featuring his network of renowned chefs from all over the world.

Open daily, the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as brunch on the weekends. For those looking for an evening of exquisite fine dining, prix-fixe tasting menus will be available starting at $140 per person. For private events and larger groups, catering packages will be available upon request.
