Tampa-headquartered McKibbon Hospitality and Georgia-based McKibbon Places announced today the groundbreaking of two new top-tier extended-stay hotels: Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore, located in Westshore’s Avion Park at the corner of O’Brien St. and Laurel St., and Hyatt House Orlando Airport, located in Orlando’s Gateway Village.
As with all Hyatt Houses, guests of the Tampa and Orlando properties will have the option to book rooms and suites featuring separate areas to work and relax, in addition to a full kitchen with ingredients available in the 24-Hour Market. Amenities and everyday comforts offered include free Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, a 24/7 workout room and on-site laundry options. Additionally, in keeping with a nationwide trend, each hotel will accommodate pets.
Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore — just minutes from Tampa International Airport — will feature 145 rooms and suites situated on six floors. Located within Avion Park in Tampa’s Westshore Business District, Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore will neighbor McKibbon Hospitality’s corporate headquarters as well as four additional McKibbon-managed hotels. The hotel will provide guests the opportunity to unwind with a sleek and modern lobby and H Bar, offering creative cocktails and light bites, a covered outdoor event deck and pool. Additionally, business travelers and meeting planners can take advantage of the hotel’s 4,600-square feet of meeting space, including a 3,500-square ft. ballroom and 1,100-square feet of breakout space.
Hyatt House Orlando Airport rises six floors and will include 156 rooms and suites. Located in Orlando’s Gateway Village – a mere five minutes from Orlando International Airport – the Hyatt House Orlando property joins two additional McKibbon Hospitality-managed properties: Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites Orlando Airport. In addition to a covered outdoor event deck and pool, the Orlando property will feature an event lawn that can be used to host larger outdoor functions. Catering to business travelers, the Orlando Hyatt House will offer 2,400-square feet of meeting space, including a 1,650-square ft. main room, 500 square-ft. gathering room, and 250-square ft. boardroom, as well as a modern lobby and H Bar, where guests can unwind and connect over drinks and shareables.
Hyatt House, one of the world’s premier extended-stay brands with nearly 100 locations and rated the #1 Extended Stay Upscale Brand by Business Traveler News Hotel Brand Survey, provides business travelers a comfortable home-away-from-home, enabling them to do their best work while enjoying their stay. Likewise, leisure travelers can depend on Hyatt House to provide restful and comfortable accommodations and home-like touches to make the best of their visit.
Base4, of Boca Raton, is the architect for both the Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore and the Hyatt House Orlando Airport. The development arm of these projects, McKibbon Places, has selected Kellogg & Kimsey, based in Sarasota, as the general contractor, and both hotels will be managed by Tampa-based McKibbon Hospitality.
“We are pleased to add the Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore and Hyatt House Orlando Airport properties to our growing hotel management and development portfolios and expand our presence in the Tampa and Orlando markets with these hotels – our first McKibbon-developed Hyatt products,” said J.B. McKibbon IV, Asset Manager for the McKibbon Family Investment Fund at McKibbon Hospitality. “No matter the duration of their stay, we are proud to offer premier extended-stay accommodations and amenities to our guests under the Hyatt House brand.”
In addition to the two new build hotels, McKibbon Hospitality is expanding their corporate
headquarters, also located in Tampa’s Avion Park. The hotel management company is adding an additional 2,500 sq. ft. to their existing 10,000 sq. ft. of office space.
