With the inaugural South Coast Food & Wine Festival just around the corner, organisers today unveil the full program of stallholders, free entertainment, special masterclasses and demonstrations and exclusive foodie experiences.
Running from Friday 13 – Sunday 15 September the festival promises to showcase the very best the South Coast has to offer with over 50 stallholders showcasing delicacies from all over the region. Seafood, cheese, berries, wines and much more will be on offer from local producers eager to present their wares. Highlights of the stallholder line up include Rick Stein at Bannisters Mollymook, Jim Wild Oysters, The Treat Factory, Cupitt’s, Unicorn Cheese, Wild Ginger, Southern Highlands Brewing and Coolangatta Estate.

THE NOWRA FARMERS MARKET MAIN STAGE
The Nowra Farmers Market Main Stage will ignite the senses with a range of cooking demonstrations and interviews with leading chefs and producers. From demonstrations on Seaweed and Aquaculture to My Kitchen Rules judge Colin Fassnidge providing hot tips on cooking like a chef at home, there’s no shortage of insightful action taking place throughout the day.
OLSSON’S MATERCLASSES
Olsson’s Masterclasses showcase a delicious program of Australian artisan producers and chefs as they demonstrate their craft and share their trade secrets. From how to make a bad ass burger by Bad Ass Bernies to crafting the perfect donut at home with Eastwood’s Deli and Cooking School, these sessions will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and learn from the chefs and artisans themselves, second only to being personally invited into their workshops and kitchens.
SATURDAY NIGHT BANQUET
With the signature Long Lunch selling out quickly, South Coast Food & Wine Festival have introduced a Saturday Night Banquet. Kierrin McKnight, Head Chef and Owner of Wild Ginger and previously Seagrass Brasserie will be bringing the Saturday Night Banquet to life with his award winning skills. McKnight will be showcasing local produce with a six course feast style menu featuring local produce in each course complemented by local wines and beers. Tickets to the Saturday Night Banquet cost $125 (tickets include entry to the Festival valued at $28.00)
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
The entertainment is as epic as the line-up of food with the likes of Happiness is Wealth headlining the stage on Saturday night. Happiness is Wealth is a multi-dimensional music project from Australian duo Surahn Sidhu and Omar Varts. Sidhu is a touring vocalist for Hayden James, Flight Facilities, and guitarist for Empire of the Sun, while Varts has a 15 year career as a touring artist. As the sun sets on the final day of the Festival, seven piece Soul Tonic will be blasting out a range of hits; from Stevie Wonder to Jamiroqui on the main stage.
General Admission to the Festival is just $28, but to really experience the event in style, VIP tickets ($125) are available and include entry to the exclusive VIP area decked out with lounges, private bars, four drink tickets and its own Chef; Andrew Hickey of Smithy & The Chef who will be preparing a massive grazing table and chef’s specialities throughout the day.
