AAT Kings, the Australia and New Zealand Holiday experts, are excited to announce the launch of nine new short breaks in Central Australia commencing 1st April 2020 for April 2020 to Mar 2021 departures. We know that travel isn’t one size fits all, and our new short breaks have been designed with flexibility in mind – to suit travellers who seek to create their own itinerary, with a built-in ability to customise accommodation levels, level of activity and destination.

AAT Kings Short Breaks are the ideal way to get-away for just a few days. Each itinerary combines the must-see highlights of a destination with your choice of quality accommodation, from something more basic to ultra-luxe. Despite the flexible nature, guests are guaranteed to experience a level of insight, as each day brings a specialist Driver Guide, an expert in that particular destination, who can uncover the secrets of locations as magical as Uluru, Alice Springs and Kings Canyon.

AAT Kings MD, Matt Cameron-Smith commented, “In putting together this new Short Break series, we have responded directly to requests from our trade partners, to create a simplified selection, that makes it easier to sell, understand and book. Short Breaks are perfect for clients that are more independent, looking to make the most of a long weekend or as part of a bigger getaway. They meet in the middle between independent and fully guided travel so are ideal for clients that are new to guided experiences.”

The new Central Australia Short Breaks series includes 9 exciting new packages. Of these, your clients can choose from 5 x Leisurely Breaks and 4 x Active Breaks. The new Short Breaks will range in duration from 2 to 5-days, each taking in the Bucket List highlights of the magnificent Red Centre.

Our new trips are split into two travel styles, either one of Active Travel or Leisurely Travel. Short Breaks labelled as active have been designed to offer an experience that allows you to be fully immersed in nature, with walks and hikes through stunning landscapes. Travel between Bucket List destinations on our comfortable airconditioned vehicle, and on disembarking, allow your Driver Guide to introduce you to some of the wonders of the world. A medium level of fitness is suitable for these Short Breaks.

Your active short break might include activities like Valley of the Winds walk, Kings Canyon guided Rim Walk (6km return) or the longer Uluru Base Walk (10.5km).

If you prefer your holiday experience with a little more comfort and a more languid pace, combined with gentle walks while taking in the natural surrounds, we suggest opting for one of leisurely Short Breaks. Our luxury air-conditioned coach will take you from point to point and our Driver Guide will then walk you into the culturally significant areas. A low level of fitness is suitable on these Short Breaks.

Your leisurely travel short break may include activities like Sunset at Kata Tjuta, Sunset at Uluru, exclusive sunrise access to Field of Light installation and a stunning Uluru sunset

Matt Cameron-Smith added, “Short Breaks are a massive opportunity for agents to capitalise on strong air routes within Australia – including last minute air deals. They’re also ideal for agents who have clients who are starting to straddle that space between independent travel and fully guided touring. Think of them as an introduction to touring – all of the benefits of experience, but with the flexibility to design your own itinerary”.

Where possible, the new Short Breaks will also be offered with varying styles of accommodation, Budget, Standard and Superior, so you can customise your trip even further! With optional add-ons also available, building your ideal break in Central Australia is now easier than ever with AAT Kings.

Some of our new Short Breaks available include:
