Mooncakes have long been a much-loved highlight of Hong Kong’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, with many connoisseurs agreeing there is no substitute for those conjured up by The Peninsula’s Michelin-starred, Cantonese fine-dining restaurant Spring Moon. Available for just a few weeks each year, the highly coveted, limited-edition mini egg custard mooncakes will be available to order through The Peninsula’s website from 22 July 2019.

This year, Michelin-starred Spring Moon culinary team and Chef Tang Chi Keung, Chinese Culinary Advisor for The Peninsula Hotels, have joined hands to craft this legendary treasure. First launched in 1986, Spring Moon’s mini egg custard mooncakes raised the bar on this storied confectionary new height, blending eastern tradition with western culinary techniques to create something utterly decadent. Since then, the mooncakes’ popularity and status has continued to rise, making them as sought-after as they are delicious.

Spring Moon has also designed the Deluxe Gourmet Hamper which offers an irresistible taste of the season with luxurious collections including a box of limited-edition mini egg custard mooncakes, 30-head Middle East dried abalone, 18-head fish maw, conpoy and other delicacies. Available for purchase from 24 June 2019, priced at HK$ 3,888, this deluxe gourmet hamper is truly an ideal gift for relatives and business associates – or simply for guests’ own enjoyment.

The Spring Moon limited-edition mini egg custard mooncakes will be available for purchase online only and exclusively at http://mooncake.peninsula.com from 22 July 2019. The site will go live at 8:00 am daily, while stocks last. A maximum number of 20 boxes can be purchased per order. Each box contains eight individual, homemade, mini egg custard mooncakes and is priced at HK$ 580.

Mooncake vouchers can be collected at 6/F, Hankow Room of The Peninsula Hong Kong, from 12 August to 13 September 2019. Boxed mooncakes will be available for collection from Spring Moon from 23 August to 13 September 2019. For enquiries, please contact Spring Moon by telephone: +852 2696 6828, by email: mooncakephk@peninsula.com, or visit www.peninsula.com.

As part of The Peninsula Hong Kong’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, Spring Moon will be introducing an incentive campaign with The Peninsula Boutique to encourage recycling of mooncake boxes. Further details shall be communicated through the hotel’s official platforms in due course.
