By end 2019, Vietjet will open several new routes and increase flight frequency to and from from Phu Quoc, one of Vietnam’s top beach destinations. This expansion was announced today at the Kien Giang Investment Promotion Conference themed “Kien Giang – Potentials, opportunities for investment and sustainable development”, which was attended by more than 500 leaders of ministries, industries, localities, domestic and international organizations, investors and leading private enterprises.
The event was witnessed by Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and senior leaders of the Vietnamese Government.
The increased flights include two new domestic routes including Phu Quoc – Da Nang and Phu Quoc–Van Don with the frequency of seven flights per week from end 2019 and mid 2020. Two new international routes (charter operation) were also announced including Phu Quoc – Chengdu (China) and Phu Quoc – Chongqing (China) with three round-trip flights per week from the end of 2019.
In addition, the flight frequency of Vietjet’s two international routes Phu Quoc – Hong Kong (China), Phu Quoc – Incheon (South Korea) will be increased to six flights/week and 14 flights/ week respectively from the coming winter to meet customers’ increasing demands during Phu Quoc’s peak season.
Since the first flight to Phu Quoc in 2012, Vietjet has continuously expanded its flight network, connecting Phu Quoc to many provinces, cities, and other countries in the region including China, South Korea, India etc. Vietjet’s flights have become important bridges connecting trade, tourism to facilitate residents, tourists and investors to Phu Quoc and Kien Giang, contributing to the change of the local economy.
With outstanding economic and tourism potential, Phu Quoc and Kien Giang province are expected to become economic leaders of the southern región and an attractive destination for tourists and investors, especially when air transport becomes more convenient than ever with many new routes to be operated in the near future.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed the participation of investors and leading companies such as Vietjet in the economic development of Kien Giang province. The Prime Minister hoped that provincial leaders and departments would continue to capitalise on the huge potential of Kien Giang.
In celebration of the new routes to Phu Quoc, Vietjet is offering 85,000 super-saving tickets priced only from MYR0 (*) for domestic and international routes connecting to the famous island of Kien Giang province.
Promotion tickets are available from now till the end of July 31,2019 with the travel time being from September 5, 2019 to December 31, 2019 for domestic routes connecting Phu Quoc to Hanoi / Hai Phong / Ho Chi Minh City and from September 5, 2019 to June 25, 2020 for international routes connecting Phu Quoc to Hong Kong / Incheon (**).

The Kuala Lumpur – Ho Chi Minh City route is operated on a daily basis. Flying time per sector is about one hour and 55 minutes. The flights take off from Kuala Lumpur at 13:10 and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 14:05. Return flights depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 9:30 and arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 12:25 (all local time).
