Taiwan’s trendsetting KiKi Noodle Bar (KiKi Tea) launched to great anticipation in Hong Kong today at ifc Mall in Central. The chic noodle bar made a phenomenally successful debut in Taipei last year – popularised by enthusiastic social media endorsement from celebrities including superstar actress Shu Qi.

Now its Hong Kong flagship for international expansion builds on the success story of the KiKi brand’s natural, healthy lines of iconic sun-dried noodles, handmade from just flour and water without MSG or additives, and authentic Taiwanese tea and bubbles made with natural ingredients.

Sleek and contemporary, the new boutique-style venue seats 32 at a restful haven styled after a minimalist Zen courtyard on Podium Level Two of ifc Mall – with rustic interior design and communal oak tables fostering a sense of warmth encouraging customer interaction.

The Hong Kong flagship’s launch is celebrated with two exclusive new KiKi noodle dishes crafted by Chef Albert Au Kwok Keung, the world’s youngest Michelin three-star Chinese chef.  Michelin-starred at both Lai Sun’s celebrity hangout Island Tang and The Eight in Macau, Chef Au’s adaptations of KiKi noodles are showcased with KiKi Meat Dumpling Mixed Noodle, Scallion Oil (HK$98); and a twist on classic Chinese seafood favourites, Abalone and Fish Maw Noodle in Chicken Soup (HK$138).

KiKi Noodle Bar’s noodle signatures on the menu are headlined by crowd-pleaser Stir-fried Minced Pork Mixed Noodles with Chive Flowers and Fermented Black Bean (HK$98), sprinkled with black beans to mimic ‘instagrammable’ fly heads, with crunchy chive flowers and spicy stir-fried minced pork; Sichuan Spicy Tofu Noodles in Soup, Duck Blood and Sliced Pork (HK$98), also packing a punch of spice; and comforting classic KiKi Dan Dan Noodle (HK$98).

Rice dishes, congees and rice rolls extend the comfort food menu including signature specialty Stir-fried Minced Pork Rice, Chive Flower & Fermented Black Bean (HK$88) and Stir-fried Minced Pork Steamed Rice Roll, Chive Flower & Fermented Black Bean (HK$68).

The KiKi Tea menu of bubble-teas brewed from a traditional Taiwanese recipe is headlined by classic favourites – refreshing Pineapple Green Teapresso (HK$38); and Winter Melon Tea (HK$36), pairing with Sichuan-pepper-flavoured “pearls” and fluffy cream mousse.

For a complete flavour of the menu, 3-course sets of a snack, main course and choice of Winter Melon Tea or Oolong Tea are priced HK$148.

Snack choices highlight Steamed Chicken, Sesame and Black Pepper Sauce, Spicy Pork Knuckle, and Sliced Pork, Mashed Garlic. A choice of 15 main courses includes crowd-pleasing signatures from the main menu: KiKi Dan Dan Noodle, Spicy Sichuan Tofu Noodle in Soup, Duck Blood, Sliced Pork, Sichuan-Style Beef Noodle in Soup, and Stir-fried Minced Pork Mixed Noodles with Chive Flowers and Fermented Black Bean.

For an extra HK$18, sets can also include Boiled Seasonal Vegetables, and HK$18 extra for a KiKi Tea Special Drink.

To celebrate the ifc Mall opening, new tea specialties to beat the summer heat are also launched. Peach Oolong Tea topped with Mango Cream Mousse and Coconut Jelly (HK$39) is distinguished by prized Taiwanese Irwin mango, renowned for its sweet, refreshing flavour; and Winter Melon Tea, Aiyu Jelly and Coconut Jelly (HK$35), inspired by Taiwan’s favourite summer cooler, winter melon tea.

Completing the stylish menu are signature tea-style desserts Earl Grey Chiffon Cake with Brown Sugar Pearls (HK$68)and Chestnut Mont Blanc (HK$38).

KiKi Noodle Bar (KiKi Tea) opens in Hong Kong in collaboration with renowned Hong Kong hospitality group Lai Sun Dining following a successful pilot introduction of the concept, KiKi Tea@Sun’s Bazaar, at Pacific Place.

It continues a winning formula of health-conscious noodles and specialties with a spicy Sichuan twist and authentic Taiwanese teas and bubble-teas. Opening hot-on-the-heels of a Shanghai branch, the Hong Kong branch is a flagship for continued international expansion of the brand.

KiKi Noodle Bar (KiKi Tea) is located at Shop 2017 on Podium Level Two of ifc Mall, 1 Harbour View Street, Central, Hong Kong; opens daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
