New York State offers a trio of the country’s best summertime water destinations with beautiful beaches, glistening waterfalls and expansive lakefronts. Before the summer ends, soak up the sun and cool-off at these scenic spots throughout the state worth chasing.

· Jones Beach

With six and a half miles of shorelines, Jones Beach State Park is one of the most well-known attractions in New York State and attracts millions of visitors each year. Just about an hour away from Manhattan, the sandy beachfront allows visitors to soak in the sun or engage in various activities including miniature golf, a nature center, a swimming pool, shuffleboard, bike paths, a two-mile boardwalk and concerts held throughout the summer at the at Jones Beach Theater.

· Sunset Bay Beach

This five-acre beauty is just 40 minutes south of Buffalo, but the mellow vibe is decidedly tropical. In addition to the beach overlooking the seemingly infinite Lake Erie horizon, visitors here will love the volleyball courts, waterfront restaurant, beach bar, ice cream shop, and more. Sunset Bay Beach, a hidden treasure located along Lake Erie’s shores, offers a complete day of fun at the beach for all to enjoy.

· Lake George Beach

A 51-acre waterfront on the southern shore of Lake George offering “million-dollar views” of the Adirondack Mountains, the Million Dollar Beach is the perfect attraction for some fun in the sun. The beach easily accommodates beachgoers within walking distance of Lake George’s hotels, restaurants, and other attractions. The Million Dollar Beach has a family-friendly atmosphere with daily lifeguard supervision, concession stands, and clean amenities including bathrooms and changing rooms.

· Taughannock Falls State Park

Located in Ulysses, NY, the Taughannock Falls has a 215-foot drop making it three stories taller than the Niagara Falls. Enjoy swimming in Cayuga Lake, a picnic area, concessions, a playground, camping, cabins and a summer concert series to take in the beautiful sounds of Ithaca.

· Letchworth State Park

Known as the “Grand Canyon of the East,” Letchworth State Park is full of glistening waterfalls and lush forests. The three major waterfalls inside Letchworth makes it a soothing and peaceful environment for walking and hiking. Activities include snowmobiling, snowshoeing, horseback riding, swimming, biking, and hot air ballooning.
