Korean Air has completed its first repaint of a Qantas A380 with a new livery. Qantas Airways is in the process of repainting its fleets ahead of its 100th anniversary in 2020. In July 2018, Korean Air signed the contract with Qantas Airways to paint four A380s, the first of which was completed on May 24.

The repaint took just 15 days to complete and was carried out at Korean Air’s painting facility at Gimhae International Airport. Built in 1998, the facility is equipped with a computer-based temperature control system and maintains the world’s highest level of painting standards.

It also creates a pleasant working environment and is certified ISO14001, international standard for environmental management systems. Over 100 fleets of other airlines have been painted in the facility.

The remaining three A380s will be repainted sequentially from 2020.
