Summer starts a little early this year at the Beachhouse at the Moana with the “Smokin’ Summer BBQ” PAIRINGS event on May 17 at 6 p.m. Chef Colin Sato and Master Sommelier Chris Ramelb host this exclusive, curated dinner event featuring a four-course dinner inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients from Chef Sato, while Ramelb pairs each course with unique and top wines from around the world.
Guests will enjoy dinner in the intimate setting of the Grand Salon and will be welcomed with passed canapé paired with a Daiquiri fromKō Hana Rum locally produced on O‘ahu. From there, diners will enjoy a culinary adventure with a rosé from Italy to start, followed by a Riesling from Germany; a Grenache from Australia, and a rosé from France to complete the experience.

The cost of “Smokin’ Summer BBQ” at the Beachhouse at the Moana is $120 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Kamaaina will receive a 15% discount. Moana’s Pairings program couples a winemaker, brew master or master distiller with the cuisine of Chef Colin Sato, who advanced to the finals of Marriott International’s rigorous Masters of the Craft Culinary Competition in 2018. Additional “Pairings” events are already scheduled for August 9: Seasons of Sake and October 4: Oktoberfest. Dates and prices are subject to change.
