For its outstanding commitment to corporate social responsibility and unparalleled philanthropy towards its community, Banyan Tree Lăng Cô was recently honoured with the prestigious 2019 CSR Australian Business Award. This highly coveted accolade recognises businesses and organisations that excel in community service and social responsibility efforts, and those who unselfishly give of themselves and their resources to change how they do business to benefit their communities. At the heart of each Banyan Tree & Angsana Lăng Cô associate is our common commitment to be a leader of sustainability in Vietnam’s hospitality industry. For us, it is not just a responsibility, but also a privilege and opportunity to embrace the environment, while supporting local communities.” says Brett Burton – Area General Manager of Banyan Tree & Angsana Lăng Cô who received the award during a recent ceremony.

Notable highlights of Banyan Tree & Angsana Lăng Cô’s CSR programmes include:

The Seedlings Program, which is a vocational training program launched by Banyan Tree & Angsana Lăng Cô, under Banyan Tree group to provide training and job opportunities for disadvantaged local youth (18 – 24 years old) and to give them the necessary skills to forge a successful career in the hospitality industry. The program first started in 2015, in which the selected students receive specialist training in either kitchen or front of house service, together with regular classes in English and other life skills. In 2018, the program was extended to housekeeping and spa for disadvantaged young adults who wish to enter the hospitality industry by a route other than F&B.

“Let’s talk” is a new initiative of Banyan Tree & Angsana Lăng Cô, which aims to improve the English proficiency of high school students and build their confidence in speaking English, carried out in a friendly English-speaking environment. Each week, different topics and activities are provided for discussion and consistent, stimulating practice.

Elderly Care Program was launched by Banyan Tree & Angsana Lăng Cô in February 2015 with the objective of bringing a better home to senior locals, highlighted by monthly visits from volunteers. The activities in each visit include basic amenities provision (rice, milk, bed sheets, noodles, shampoo, etc.), basic home care and storytelling and sharing amongst the elders. Guests and associates are encouraged to show their support.
