Five lucky travel agents have returned from Unique Latin America’s Luxury Agent Famil trip to Peru, where they ticked the mighty Machu Picchu and Peruvian Amazon off their bucket-lists. The five agents were; Sue Watts from Executive Edge, Belinda Brooke from FBI Travel, Annie Watts from Epic Private Journeys, Mia Caridi from Journeys by Design and Tracey Fidone from Hawthorn Travel.

During the 12-day Famil, they experienced Mountain Lodges of Peru’s soft adventure program, The Sacred Valley and Lares Adventure to Machu Picchu. This luxury lodge-to-lodge program allowed the agents to create their own journey each day by choosing between a range of authentic cultural activities and picturesque hikes on route to the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu.

The group then flew to Iquitos to embark on Delfin Amazon Cruises’ newest luxury vessel, the Delfin III. During the 3-night cruise, the group saw and swam with pink river dolphins, saw sloths, lizards and lots of birdlife, all whilst enjoying the delicious cuisine and comfort of the Relais & Chateaux-listed vessel.

Throughout the trip, the agents stayed in elegant boutique properties including El Retablo Boutique Arts Hotel in Cusco and Australian-owned Casa Republica Hotel in Barranco – Lima.

Rebeca Espinoza, Managing Director of Unique Latin America, explained that the tourism representation company places immense value on travel agents and are always looking for new ways to support the development of their destination and product knowledge.

“I am so thrilled that these agents have been able to experience first-hand exactly what Unique Latin America and our select partners are all about. Unique, remote and deeply authentic experiences that immerse their guests in the true essence of Latin America.” – Rebeca Espinoza, Managing Director of Unique Latin America.

Sue Watts, Leisure Travel Advisor from Executive Edge added; “South America is one of those destinations that is so much easier to sell when you have first-hand knowledge of the destination and can speak from personal experience.  It makes such a difference to the confidence of the consultant and gives the client reassurance that their advisor knows the product and destination. Even after all my years in travel, I had so many of my own questions before embarking on the Unique Latin America’s Peru trip.

I know now I can match the right client with the most appropriate product and be confident in my own knowledge. I have “walked the walk” and can now “talk the talk”!
