A new food tour has launched in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, inviting foodies behind the scenes to discover why the region is fast becoming one of Australia’s premier taste destinations.

The tour is a joint initiative between Sunshine Coast craft beer expert and avid foodie Josh Donohoe, of Creative Tours and Events, and Maleny’s Brouhaha Brewery.

The Farm to Fork experience will tell the story of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s community, collaboration, and most of all, its fresh produce.

Mr Donohoe said the tour was designed to “take foodies behind the scenes of private farms and meet local producers, hear their stories and sample the amazing local produce of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland”.

The single-day tour will take visitors through the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, stopping at Sunshine Coast Coffee Roastery for a bean-to-cup experience, The Falls Farm in Mapleton and Maleny Wagyu.

The tour will finish at Maleny’s Brouhaha Brewery for a four-course degustation showcasing local produce featured in the tour and paired with four of Brouhaha’s craft beers.

Guests will be joined at lunch by Brouhaha’s head chef and head brewer, who will share the local stories behind the food and beer they create.

The tour has launched just as the Sunshine Coast is poised to welcome Australia’s newest food festival to the region – The Curated Plate – which will debut this August.

Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Latchford welcomed the launch of the Farm to Fork Tour on the Sunshine Coast, saying that the new tour highlighted both the region’s rich agricultural legacy and the diversity of the region’s tourism attractions.

“Visitors looking to explore a destination in depth are after authentic experiences, and what better way to get a sense of a community than through its cuisine,” he said.

“The Farm to Fork experience with Creative Tours and Events plays an important role in shaping how our region’s producers and restaurants work together with a shared focus on sustainability.”

The Farm to Fork Tour is available Wednesday to Friday and is limited to an intimate group of four to 10 people. Each tour runs for approximately 6.5 hours from 9:30am to 4pm, with pick up available from Caloundra, Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Noosa and additional locations on request. Tour prices range from $200 to $260 per person, depending on the numbers.
