The Bavarian will open its doors at Westfield Tuggerah on the Central Coast of New South Wales on Wednesday, 27 March, with 500 free hotdogs distributed from 11am.

Located in the picturesque outdoor dining precinct on the ground floor of the shopping centre (opposite The Coffee Club), The Bavarian Tuggerah accommodates 280 guests, including 154 seats outdoors.

Tuggerah residents, shoppers and cinema-goers will experience a true taste of Bavarian hospitality, from cultural hints in the interior décor, to quintessential dishes and a range of international and local beers.

The family-friendly menu offers something for everyone, including traditional Bavarian favourites, such as The Bavarian’s legendary crispy pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, a range of classic German and gourmet sausages, shared platters, and an assortment of schnitzels. Lighter bites include chicken wings, spicy squid and build-your-own salads from a checklist of fresh ingredients.

The Bavarian Tuggerah launches with five, fantastic, $10 lunch dishes, available from Monday to Thursday. Highlights include sloppy fries, which are tricked up with a generous topping of chilli con carne, melted cheese and onion jus, a fragrant and spice-packed curried vegetable pie and a southern-fried chicken burger. These value-packed meals can be bolstered with a range of $5 add-ons, including chicken wings, fries, mac and cheese balls, craft beers, house wines and soft drinks, enabling customers to indulge in two courses for just $15, or $20 with a drink.

Dinner specials include fried chicken burger and drink of choice ($15) on Mondays, a two-for-one deal on any regular schnitzel on Tuesdays and refillable All You Can Meat platters ($35 per person) every Wednesday. On Sunday the focus is on families, with children under the age of 12 eating for free from the kids’ menu with a paying adult.

Happy Hour runs from 4pm to 6pm every day with $5 beer, wine and spirits and $1 chicken wings.

The menu is complemented by 17 beers on tap, including imported Bavarian favourites Lowenbrau, Franziskaner, Stiegl and Hofbrau. An iconic range of Australian and international craft brews join the line-up of German beers, including 4 Pines and Pirate Life (AUS), Goose Island, Budweiser (USA) and Stella Artois (EUR).

The Bavarian Tuggerah is Rockpool Dining Group’s 27th Bavarian restaurant, and 15th in NSW, including The Bavarians at Bondi beach, Castle Hill, Chatswood, Charlestown, Entertainment Quarter, Manly, Miranda, Rouse Hill, Penrith, Shellharbour, Wetherill Park, World Square, The Bavarian Beerhaus York Street and Munich Brauhaus The Rocks.

Rockpool Dining Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pash said he was thrilled to be expanding the Group’s NSW footprint and bringing The Bavarian to Westfield Tuggerah.

“Our Bavarian restaurants have a large and loyal following in NSW and we’re thrilled to be bringing our first daily deal packed destination to one of the region’s largest shopping centres,” Mr Pash said.

“We have created 50 full-time and casual positions and supported the local economy by engaging around 50 professionals and tradespeople on the project and we look forward to getting to know the local community.”

The Bavarian Tuggerah is a contemporary, casual restaurant with design features that reflect its Bavarian heritage, including stone walls, alpine finishes and large, communal wood tables.

Signature details include a custom-designed, vintage beer barrel feature above the bar, drinking ledges framed by
bi-fold glass windows and an impressive beer stein chandelier featuring over 500 1-litre glass steins.

Green plants, hanging baskets and ivy garlands adorn the interior, adding a splash of colour and fresh feel. Large communal and high beer barrel tables are situated around a huge central bar, while several large-screen TVs offer an exciting schedule of live sports games.

An al-fresco seating area, which runs the length of the restaurant, accommodates up to 60 guests, with folding awnings providing shelter from the elements. Two additional outdoor dining areas, positioned around a picturesque water feature, seat up to 94 guests and are inviting spaces to host functions and parties of different sizes.
