As each year passes on, it becomes increasingly difficult to figure out which costume you should dress up in especially when the chances are, someone’s already done it before. But when it comes to costume fashion, there are some that come and go while others always will stand the test of time. Just throw in a few of your own personal touches to these costumes that will never go out of style and you’re guaranteed to hit one out of the ballpark.
Witch costume
You may think that a witch costume is far too overused but to your ignorance, little do you know that it’s also pretty underrated. There isn’t much that can beat the flexibility of a witch costume regardless of whether you’ve been invited to a party at the last minute or if you’ve just decided to crash one. Witchever it is, it’s time to get creative and add some twists to the costume. One of our all-time favourites is dressing up as a Sandwitch to really get the wordplay going!
Skull Makeup costume
Probably one of the easiest costumes to do, the main challenge is having the tools and paint at hand. For maximum effectiveness, outline the contours of your face with a typical black and white unless you’d like to spice things up with some creativity and try out some colour additions instead – think of the Dia de los Muertos celebrations which stands for the Day of the Dead. A skull makeup costume allows you to be flexible with your dress style as most of the costume is in the paint.
Vampire costume
Being an absolute tradition from the era of Dracula to a modern Twilight or True Blood and many more vampire classics, the vampire costume isn’t going out of fashion any time soon! Just grab yourself some fake blood and fangs for the basic look or go fully professional with some makeup and paint to add some contour effects onto your face! The great thing about vampire costumes is in how you get to play around with the demeanour you wish to present yourself in as pretty much anyone could get bitten and turn vampire!
Nurse costume
One of the sexy costumes of all time, you can’t go wrong with a nurse costume whether you’re a guy or a girl. All you need is a few items to make yourself look the part and add on some makeup if you’re hoping to nail the sexiness.
Zombie costume
Dressing up as a zombie has always been a popular trend throughout different generations with countless of movies and shows depicting their take on the apocalypse. It’s pretty easy to come up with costume ideas for zombies with the numerous examples available. Alternatively, you can always put a fresh spin to a zombie costume by mixing a couple of different costumes together such as a zombie nurse or a zombie lumberjack!
Superhero costume
Whether you decide to go current with the superhero trend of Deadpool, the Avengers, or would like to keep it classic with Batman or Superman, the superhero costume theme isn’t bound to go out of date for a long, long time.
With around 10 superhero movies anticipated to be released each year from 2019 to 2022, putting on a superhero costume on your next day out will ensure some good sense of fashion!
