Hardie Grant Books is delighted to announce the acquisition of a memoir from former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
Hardie Grant Books acquired world rights for Turnbull’s memoir in late 2018 and will publish globally in late 2019.

Turnbull and Grant worked closely together in 1987 on a legal battle with the British government, which had attempted to block the publication of the bestselling bookSpycatcher.
They collaborated again in 1999 on Turnbull’s book on the republic referendum, Fighting for the Republic. Mr Turnbull said it was great to be working with Sandy again.
An exceptionally candid and compelling account, the book will be an in-depth and definitive narrative of Turnbull’s prime ministership and his time in politics. It will also describe his early life and successful career across law, investment and banking, including the high-profile characters and controversies he encountered in more than two decades of business.
From defending ‘Spycatcher’ Peter Wright against the UK Government to defending Kerry Packer against the Costigan Commission, he made his name as a colourful and effective advocate. He then went on to make a fortune in businesses as diverse as media, technology and mining in Russia and China, becoming a partner of Goldman Sachs in 1998.
Politics was always a passion. He led the Republican Movement in the 1990s and was until last August Prime Minister of Australia. His experience in dealing with media moguls stood him in good stead when he encountered Donald Trump and some of the other dominant global leaders during his time in office.
Turnbull is currently working with publisher Arwen Summers to have the book ready for publication in late 2019.
