The Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF®) returns, along with the Crave Greater Fort Lauderdale Series, during the 18th annual festival, February 20-24. The festival will feature a number of dinners, wine seminars and cocktail parties hosted by local and celebrity chefs including Anne Burrell, Angelo Elia, Alex Guarnaschelli, Adam Richman, Geoffrey Zakarian, and the first-ever Drag Brunch hosted by Alex Carr and Elvis Duran.

Celebrate at Pride Fort Lauderdale

The oldest Pride celebration in the state of Florida, Pride Fort Lauderdale takes over Greater Fort Lauderdale February 21-24 for a colorful weekend of celebration and recognition. The weekend line-up features a Runway Fashion Show featuring Project Runway alumni, a gala to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, and no shortage of parties including Bear Beach Bash, Pride Block Party and a Carnaval Parade hosted along scenic A1A on Fort Lauderdale Beach for the first time ever.

Known as  one of the most scenic races in the country, Greater Fort Lauderdale’s Publix A1A Marathon,  February 17, allows  athletes to take on a marathon course like no other. The postcard-worthy route  features 26.2 miles of signature South Florida beauty with unobstructed ocean and waterway views – the fast, flat course is also ideal for runners  looking to achieve Boston qualifying times. With the ocean as the finish line, this marathon is a personal best for runners with a penchant for sun, surf and speed.

Take a Historic Tour at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center

Featuring a 60,000 square-foot museum, 300 seat theater and more than 85,000 books, documents and artifacts, Greater Fort Lauderdale’s African American Research Library and Cultural Center is an homage to African American history and culture. Visit during Black History Month for special programming such as the Destination Black Hollywood Red Carpet Celebration on February 8 or a screening and panel discussion of “My Soul on Ice” a film depicting the journey of Black Hockey Players from their youth to becoming professional players in the National Hockey League, happening February 22.
