Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Chigwidden as National Sales Manager (AU & NZ).

Darren will commence with CMV on Tuesday, 29 January 2019 and will be based out of Adelaide. As National Sales Manager, he will provide ongoing support for agent partners in Australia and New Zealand to help develop and grow their business, as well as working closely with wholesalers and national travel agents.

He joins CMV during an exciting period of growth for the company, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Dean Brazier, Managing Director of Cruise & Maritime Voyages Australia, is looking forward to welcoming Darren into the CMV team.

Offering more than 20 years of experience in the travel and cruise industry, Darren has previously worked with Royal Caribbean, Princess, P&O, and Cunard. In addition, Darren’s former role at the South Australian Tourism Commission gave him experience in attracting cruise lines to the region to showcase the unique experiences on offer in the state.

Most recently, Darren led the sales team in South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania, and the Northern Territory with the Globus Family of Brands, which includes Monograms, Cosmos, and Avalon Waterways.

Wendy Hernan will continue to be the key contact for agents in Western Australia and Faye Larrarte will support agents in New South Wales and Queensland, while Darren will be the key contact for travel agents in all other states as well as wholesalers and national travel agents in Australia and New Zealand.

CMV has been operating for six years in Australia, with its charming ship Astor winning the hearts of cruise lovers across the globe. As Australia’s leading independent cruise line, CMV’s international fleet comprises of six ships, offering itineraries through Asia, South America, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, and more. CMV’s newest ship, Vasco da Gama, will launch in 2019 and will be the first cruise ship ever to visit the South Australian port of Wallaroo.
