Spread the love

Six Senses Zighy Bay is gift wrapping a festive season packed with experiences on land, in the air and at sea between December 23, 2018 and January 2, 2019. Naturally, there is an Omani twist: the dramatic mountains, soft sandy beach and uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf provide an oasis away from the madness back home.

The resort will welcome guests with seasonal decorations and aromas of cinnamon, vanilla and spicy gingerbread. The culinary team will lay on a banquet of delicacies with a generous sprinkling of Arabian magic on Christmas Eve. There will be a carving station for slow-roasted turkey and a grill station for local fish and desserts. As if sitting under a blanket of stars while the waves gently lap the shore isn’t tempting enough, diners will enjoy an acoustic cocktail of classical jazz, swing and contemporary music.

A high altitude Christmas Day dinner will take place 950 feet (290 meters) above sea level at Sense on the Edge, the resort’s literal top table. The distinctive Christmas Feast menu is an enticing offering for visiting gourmands.

Every year, Santa Claus makes a dramatic entrance, dropping down not from the chimney but the sky, laden with gifts for the young and joy for the young at heart.

Ringing in the New Year beside the saltwater pool is the chance to dance the night away to live and very lively entertainment. This requires stamina. Happily it is preceded by an extravagant culinary experience, featuring buffet and barbecue corners, fresh salads, Asian delicacies, Mediterranean influences, lavish deli counter, Arabic hot and cold mezze and grill stations … and a decadent selection of desserts. Children will have an area for a special buffet (and treats) of their own.

Herald the holiday at the Christmas Day dinner at Sense on the Edge, Six Senses Zighy Bay.

Exhilarating experiences, arranged by the GEMs (Guest Experience Makers) include private dhow cruises, paragliding, sunset Sabatyn excursions and catamaran cruises along with spa and wellness workshops and special food and beverage workshops.

In the spirit of giving back, Six Senses Zighy Bay will be holding various sustainability-related programs that are educational, fun and memorable. These include upcycling and recycling workshops in the Earth Lab and organic garden – everything from seed planting to soap making and recycling into decorations and souvenirs.

After all that activity, if a little rest and relaxation is called for, guests can head to Six Senses Spa Zighy Bay for pampering treatments and therapies from resident wellness experts and Visiting Practitioners. Highlights include Jill Banwell for intuitive massage treatments and crystal chakra therapy, along with Claude Simard for deep therapeutic massage treatments and private inner-child meditation.

Guests have the option to book a private dhow cruise experience at Six Senses Zighy Bay.

With such a lot on offer, the holiday can be extended. A special dhow cruise experience is available and includes a cooking class, spa treatments plus lazy family days building memories off the shores of the Gulf of Oman. It can be booked for USD 376 (OMR 145) per adult and USD 207 (OMR 80) per child under 12 years of age.

Six Senses Zighy Bay is just two hours away from Dubai and is very happy to feature high up on the family Christmas wish list.
