Floriade has announced a partnership with Pialligo Estate that will see the award-winning local restauranteur bring their renowned offerings to Australia’s premier flower festival.

Pialligo Estate will host Floriade’s new Pialligo Urban experience in the main café, featuring high tea and after-hours event bookings with a view, from Saturday 15 September until Sunday 14 October.

Pialligo Estate General Manager, Charlie Costelloe, said he is thrilled to be a part of Floriade 2018.
“Floriade is one of Canberra’s key events, it gives locals a chance to celebrate the start of springs and brings visitors from across the country to our city. We’re excited to showcase a little of what we do at Pialligo Estate to Floriade visitors this year,” Mr. Costelloe said.
“We’re going to have a range of offerings at affordable prices, including a breakfast menu, lunch mains, sandwiches, snacks, salads and scones available daily at the café. We’ll also be doing high tea on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and hosting private events and functions in our Floriade cafe over the 30 days we’re on-site.”

To further showcase the best of the Canberra region‘s award-winning food and wine, Floriade has also partnered with Contentious Character as the official wine partner, Capital Brewing Co. as the beer partner and Underground Spirits as the festival spirits partner.

Floriade visitors can enjoy a top drop from local winery Contentious Character in any of the event’s licenced venues, as well as pick up a bottle to take home from the Contentious Character stall onsite.

Acting Director at Events ACT, Jo Verden, said she was proud to have the region’s producers on board to help showcase the best produce the Canberra area has to offer.

“This year Floriade is more dedicated than ever to highlight the award-winning food and beverage offerings we have available in the nation’s capital. Canberrans are in for a treat with offerings from Pialligo Estate, Contentious Character, Capital Brewing Co. and Underground Spirits. These partnerships also allow us to showcase what the Canberra region has on offer to our interstate and international Floriade attendees,” Ms Verden said.

On top of the offerings from Floriade’s official partners, visitors will be able to find a wide variety of multicultural cuisines available including Italian, Asian, Mexican and more. Those with a sweet tooth will delight in the return of Clayridge Honey’s delicious donuts, an array of delicious cakes, Belgium waffles, crepes and Streets Ice Creams.

Floriade’s delectable foodie offerings will continue into the evening when NightFest returns for five nights from Wednesday 26 September to Sunday 30 September. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy after-dark offerings from a wider range of food traders available only at NightFest. During the five days and evenings, local distillery Underground Spirits will create a pop up bar in the Stage 88 entertainment precinct, offering visitors a chance to try their multi-award winning spirits.

Visitors will have to pre-book their high tea sessions and can speak to a dedicated events manager for enquires related to hiring the Pialligo Estate space for private events. Further information is available via, floriadeaustralia.com/event-info/food-and-drink.
