Following their success in being crowned Garden of the Year in this year’s BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards, The Lost Gardens of Heligan have scooped yet another award being named as the Best Garden to Visit in the South West by readers of Garden News magazine.

Over the last few months Garden News readers voted in their thousands in a quest to discover the nation’s top 100 gardens. Amongst fierce competition from esteemed company, the iconic gardens and estate came in at third place in the country and first in the South West.

Garden News editor Simon Caney said: “It’s the first time that gardens throughout the UK have been rated in this way, and thousands of people voted. We know that our readers love visiting gardens to get inspiration and ideas, and The Lost Gardens of Heligan was a clear winner in the south-west.”

Elsewhere in the top 100, there were honorable mentions for the nearby Eden Project,

Trengwainton and Trebah Garden.

Hoping to continue their winning ways, Heligan have also been nominated in the Best UK Leisure Attraction category of the 2018 British Travel Awards. Having won this prestigious award in both 2017 and 2018, the gardens aim to complete the hat trick later in the year.
