Pan Pacific Perth enjoyed a highly successful night of accolades and industry recognition at the 2018 Perth Airport AHA Accommodation Awards for Excellence on 27 August, with its staff numbering amongst the finalists in no less than 8 out of 11 Management Employee award categories.

The Perth Airport AHA Accommodation Awards for Excellence are widely celebrated as West Australia’s premier hospitality industry awards, showcasing and rewarding excellence across the State’s leading venues and their staff, and acknowledging their contribution and commitment to building WA’s reputation as a must-visit tourism destination.

Monday night’s Awards saw Pan Pacific Perth’s head concierge Andre Burford win the coveted WA Best Concierge Award for the fourth time. The well-regarded Burford has been with Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts for over 25 years. He is also a member of Les Clefs d’Ora, making Pan Pacific Perth the only West Australian hotel to employ three members of the acclaimed international society of concierges at a single property.

Burford was not Pan Pacific Perth’s only winner on the night, with the hotel’s Director of Finance, Beh Ee Linn, beating out 3 other finalists to win the Best Executive Level Manager Award. About to celebrate her second anniversary with Pan Pacific Perth this October, over the last two years Ee Linn has been influential in helping to build the reputation and profile of the hotel, and the award is fitting recognition of her determination and hard work.

Also recognised at the event were Pan Pacific Perth Executive Sous Chef, Ramandeep Kukreja, who received a Highly Commended award in WA’s Best Hotel Chef category, and Ana Lim who was Highly Commended in the Best Administration, Finance and Executive Support category.

Additionally, the hotel’s management team were finalists in WA’s Best Hotel Management Team of the Year award, while three other individual staff were finalists in various categories including:

Bethany Deaman – WA’s Best Front Office;

Rebecca Nash – WA’s Best Conference and Events; and

Afzal Mahajan – WA’s Best Engineering and Maintenance.

Pan Pacific Perth General Manager, Rob Weedon couldn’t be more delighted. “The Australian Hotels Association Accommodation Hotel Awards are amongst the highest commendations in the West Australian travel industry, and we feel incredibly proud that our staff have received this recognition from our peers.

“The success of our team at the recent Awards is also a testament to our ongoing commitment towards hiring people who really embrace our vision of a strong service culture, and who consistently go above and beyond. This philosophy is a core tenet of Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s recent global brand refresh and we look forward to continuing to raise the very high bar we have already set for ourselves.”
