As drought conditions at New South Wales farms continue to worsen, staff at Ramada Flynns Beach have thrown their support behind an initiative to help struggling families.

The entire state has been drought declared, with farmers experiencing diminished crops, while producers are running out of grass in their paddocks and are facing crippling costs bringing alternative feed in from hundreds of kilometres away.

Inspired to help out any way they could, Ramada Flynns Beach Guest Service Agent Tessa Van De Weyer and Sales Representative Pamela Hata-Mcleay transformed one of the resort’s events for visiting WorldMark South Pacific Club Owners into a fundraising activity for farmers.

“All staff at the resort were touched by the struggle our farmers and their families are experiencing, and we believe strongly in doing what we can to help,” said Suzy Berry, Resort Manager at Ramada Flynns Beach. “Every initiative like this does help by raising much-needed finances and awareness.

“We are grateful for the generosity of our WorldMark South Pacific Club Owners and staff, and we are glad to have had this opportunity to come together to assist those who are in need,” she added.

The team collected donations and held a raffle during the event, raising more than AU$400 which was given to Aussie Helpers. The local charity provides aid to farmers by delivering hay and livestock feed, purchasing groceries, fuel vouchers and pet food and providing free access to a psychologist.
