JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay has been recognized at the prestigious 2018 World Luxury Spa & Restaurant Awards. The annual awards ceremony celebrates exceptional service in the luxury wellness and fine dining industries. Earning top honors in three categories, the prizes are a testament to the resort’s exceptional dining concepts.

Held on July 14 at the Galgorm Resort & Spa in Northern Ireland, The World Luxury Spa and Restaurant Awards attracted 200 guests from 42 countries. Three of JW Marriott Phu Quoc’s dining outlets were honored in separate categories.

Department of Chemistry, the resort’s flagship bar, was awarded a global prize for the Most Romantic Atmosphere. A cocktail bar by the beach, guests can relax on one of the swinging daybeds or lounge seats while sampling signature concoctions by in-house “chemists”. Every detail in the bar reinforces the chemistry theme, from the serving counters decorated with beakers to scientific instruments and the ceiling adorned with a periodic table to the atom-shaped lights. Department of Chemistry overlooks the idyllic Emerald Bay and Bai Khem beach, renowned for its lush white sand, making it an ideal setting for a mid-afternoon break or a nightcap before a moonlit stroll along the beach.

Tempus Fugit, the resort’s all-day restaurant, earned top honours in the Luxury Interior Design/Architecture, Asia category. Tempus Fugit (meaning “Time Flies” in English) offers three distinctive dining experiences in an open kitchen layout. Interactive and engaging, chefs showcase their culinary craftsmanship in authentic Vietnamese, contemporary Japanese, and classic French cuisine. To add authenticity to its whimsical design, the resort houses over 5,000 original antiques and furniture. At Tempus Fugit, guests can discover these exquisite pieces, as well as teaching material that echoes the scholarly theme.

Pink Pearl, the resort’s striking beachfront mansion, took home the prize for Luxury Resort Restaurant, Vietnam. A French fine-dining concept set against a backdrop of sparkling emerald waters and fuchsia sunsets, the beachside restaurant pairs inventive design with inspired cuisine. Pink Pearl draws inspiration from the legend of Madame Pearl Collins, a fictional former resident of JW Marriott Phu Quoc. In her luxurious pink mansion, lavish dinner parties and grand celebrations were the order of the day. Continuing this tradition, Pink Pearl embodies a spirit of warm hospitality, adding a generous dash of glamour and a menu of classic French recipes.

Located on Vietnam’s largest island of Phu Quoc, an idyllic paradise off the southern coast of Vietnam, JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay features a one-of-a-kind mythical university design narrative by award-winning Bill Bensley. The resort offers 234 guestrooms, suites and villas and brings together enriching culinary experiences for an unrivalled, luxurious retreat.
