MadeComfy, Australia’s first performance based short-term rental (STR) management company, was awarded the Excellence in Innovation Award at the NSW Business Chamber Awards in Sydney last night.

It’s been an outstanding year for MadeComfy. Headquartered in Sydney, MadeComfy recently secured over $6m in capital investment to fund national and international expansion, and were also named one of Westpac’s 2018 Businesses of Tomorrow. Established by co-founders Quirin Schwaighofer and Sabrina Bethunin in 2015, MadeComfy has been growing over 500% year-on-year to now manage a property portfolio worth over $600million across Sydney and Melbourne (and soon Brisbane), welcoming 4,000 guests a month.

The Excellence in Innovation Award recognised MadeComfy’s unique contribution to its industry. This contribution has driven innovation in the short-term rental market through a performance-driven approach to maximising rental returns for clients, disrupting both the real estate and hospitality industries in the process.

“We are absolutely thrilled to win the Excellence in Innovation Award from the NSW Business Chamber,” said Quirin Schwaighofer. “Innovation has helped MadeComfy grow exponentially, and helped us change from a low-traction key exchange start-up, pivoting to become Australia’s first performance-based short-term rental management company.

“We’re a small but hard-working team – and now one of Australia’s fastest growing businesses. Our growth has been driven purely by identifying where there is demand, and where MadeComfy can add the most value.”

Unlike the many Airbnb management companies who only provide cleaning and listing management services, MadeComfy delivers a tailored, end-to-end management service for short-term rentals, including property furnishing and styling, analytical pricing, 24/7 booking and guest management, housekeeping and maintenance. In addition, MadeComfy works across a range of booking platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com and HomeAway, allowing the company to maximise rental revenue for home owners while also providing an exceptional guest experience.

“With Australia’s short-term rental market now contributing an estimated $6billion to the Australian economy, and creating over 40,000 full-time jobs, MadeComfy’s growth and the recognition of this award signals market and consumer confidence in a vital growing industry,” said Quirin Schwaighofer. “We’re looking forward to further growth, and delivering a unique, high-quality experience for hosts and guests alike.”
