HGU New York Hotel has partnered with Noho Sound and MusicTalks to present the Summer Music Series, an exclusive summer-long series of events designed to showcase iconic artists and timeless songbooks via live performances and vinyl records played on some of the world’s top audio equipment. Hosted at HGU New York’s Rose Hill Lounge, the third event on July 25th, 2018 will feature the music that inspired “Lady Day,” the legendary Billie Holiday. The evening will highlight the best of Holiday’s influential career, which spanned nearly 30 years.

Hosted in the sophisticated and intimate Rose Hill Lounge, the Summer Music Series will open with a biographical introduction to Billie Holiday, conducted by MusicTalk’s Elad Kabilio. Both hardened fans and novices to the genre will learn and gain a greater understanding of Billie Holiday’s life, style, vocal abilities, influences, and impact on the American songbook before listening to live interpretations of her greatest hits by jazz vocalist Maya Yahav-Gour and pianist Hila Kulik.

Complementing the live music session, Noho Sound’s Ron Kain will spin Billie Holiday vinyl on the world’s finest audio reproduction equipment from McIntosh Labs and Focal. Listeners will encounter an unmatched listening experience as Billie Holiday’s unique diction, inimitable phrasing and acute dramatic intensity is brought to life by Noho Sound’s collection of high fidelity stereo equipment.
