 LATAM Airlines Group has been chosen as the South American airline with the “Best Overall Passenger Experience Global Airline” for the 2018 APEX Passenger Choice Awards.

APEX, the Airline Passenger Experience, is a non-profit organisation that has worked over the last four decades to evaluate and help improve all aspects of the air experience from the design, construction and installation of seating systems, entertainment, communications, airport lounges and inflight dining.

At LATAM, we recognise that the onboard experience is key for passengers, and for this reason, we continuously listen to our passengers as we continue to invest in technology and entertainment as well as in service and food,” said Eduardo Costa, Senior Director of communication and customer experience, LATAM Airlines Group. “It is an honour to be a designated ‘Five Star Global Airline’ and to be recognised for having the ‘Best Global Passenger Experience.’ Our commitment is always with our customers.”

LATAM Airlines Group received “The Passenger Choice Award” on Tuesday, 19 June during the APEX TECH awards ceremony held in Los Angeles. This accolade adds to the recognition the airline received last year as a “Five Star Global Airline” by APEX.  LATAM Airlines Group is one of two Latin American airlines, and one of three on the continent, to be a part of this prestigious category that compares more than one million flights from a total of 428 airlines around the world.

APEX ratings on airlines classify the on-board experience based on passengers’ feedback. The following criteria is used to rate the airline: general experience, seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment and Wi-Fi.
