Spread the love

This Christmas season, kindness is going viral in Australia. Global Good, a secular not-for-profit group focused on creating people-driven positive change, is launching its annual 12 Days of Kindmas campaign on the 12th of December 2020.

HOW IT WORKS

The campaign works in two steps. Individuals pledge to carry out 12 acts of kindness over the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Participants then inspire kindness by sharing the event with their friends and loved ones as well as sharing their acts of kindness, to lead by example.

1. BE KIND: Do one of each of the 12 things below from the 12th to the 23rd of December.

2. INSPIRE KINDNESS: Share this event/invite friends to encourage others to do the same, and share your acts of kindness.

Day 1: Compliment a stranger.

Day 2: Genuinely thank someone (for something past or present).

Day 3: Donate to a meaningful cause.

Day 4: Share more smiles today.

Day 5: Go out of your way to help someone.

Day 6: Apologies to someone (for something recent or in the past).

Day 7: Do something good for the environment.

Day 8: Leave someone a secret gift (without taking credit).

Day 9: Check up on someone.

Day 10: Give away something of yours.

Day 11: Forgive someone.

Day 12: Choose your own act of kindness and share it on the event wall.

THE GOAL

In what has been one of the most trying years for humanity in modern times, society is in greater need of kindness than ever. As people struggle through loss of loved ones, careers, liberty, and certainty, these simple acts of compassion are designed to help revive a sense of positivity, solidarity and community in society.

“Kindness in our superpower. The catalytic, exponential power of a single act is enormous. A simple smile can change someone’s day, a helping hand can change someone’s life, an act of forgiveness can mend a relationship.” – Ace Mamun, founder, Global Good._____________________
